Change of generation

Christoph Hinteregger, Technical Director and member of senior management at Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH, has announced his retirement after 35 years of service to the Austrian ropeway manufacturer. He will be succeeded as Technical Director by Michael Mathis.

Christoph Hinteregger started his career with Doppelmayr as technical coordinator and assistant to senior management in 1981. In 1987 he received the power of attorney for the company. He was made head of Engineering and a member of the senior management team in 1992. Under his aegis, Doppelmayr landed several world firsts and set new records in the field of ropeway engineering. With his foresight and innovative mindset, Christoph Hinteregger has made a significant contribution to safety on modern ropeway installations.

At the beginning of 2017, Christoph Hinteregger will be succeeded as Technical Director in Wolfurt by Michael Mathis, who currently holds the same position at Garaventa. To ensure a smooth handover, Mathis will be moving to Wolfurt this summer already. He also started his career with Doppelmayr in Wolfurt and will be returning to his native Vorarlberg.

In addition to his duties at Doppelmayr, Christoph Hinteregger is also very active in various functions, for example as chairman of the Vorarlberg Electrical and Metal Industries and deputy head of the Industry section within the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce. He will also continue to devote himself to the fields of training and development for engineering occupations.
