Off to Beijing’s Winter Olympics

The International Trade Show for Mountain and Winter Technologies will be held together with ISPO BEIJING 2016 International Trade Show for Sports Equipment in Asia-Pacific.

It’s official now: the 2022 Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing! Since 2008, Alpitec China - the international trade show for mountain and winter technologies - has been supporting the development of the Chinese winter sports market together with ISPO Beijing. The next edition takes place from 24th until 27th of February 2016 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing.

Alpitec China congratulates Beijing on the assignment of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and confirms once more its function as an international platform for the entire winter technology industry covering the market into the future all the way from infrastructure to technological equipment and preparing China’s requirements for hosting athletes and events.

The Chinese winter sports market continues to grow. The government has launched a variety of initiatives to support public health and enhance the importance of the sports industry. In the future, physical education will be on the daily school schedule. At the same time, the construction of sports facilities will be endorsed. The selection of Beijing as the location for the 2022 Winter Olympics, which was announced on July 31, 2015 at the IOC meeting in Kuala Lumpur, and the international attention and investments it will engender will further increase the speed of development in sports infrastructures.

The opportunities for European companies operating in the winter technology sector are great. There will be a notable increase in investments not only in the public sector but also in the private one. As is well known, Chinese people are particularly into details and ambitioned to improve everything visible to the rest of the world. The 2022 Winter Olympic Games are going to be exhilarating for a country with such a young winter sports market.
