A successful 4seasons concept

The Italian Neveplast company, the leader in the field of artificial ski slopes, recognized the importance of creating ski slopes in the city well before people started talking about urban skiing.

The idea is not to take skiers away from the mountains but, on the contrary, to attract still more more people to ski there. Everyone will agree that skiing the Rocky Mountains or the Dolomites is a completely different story to skiing in the city, but urban skiing is destined to grow and has the numbers to prove it. Alpine skiing centers in the city have an enormous advantage in that they are open all year round and in all weather conditions, and that they are easily accessible for large numbers of people. More and more mountain managers are recognizing the importance of these slopes as important vehicles for promotion, for creating a new user base, and for bringing more people into the world of skiing and the mountains.

As if in confirmation of this fact, Neveplast has announced the opening of the first artificial ski slope in Vienna, the capital of the country where skiing is the national sport.

On December 27, Vienna’s first artificial ski slope was opened by Neveplast. Known as Snow Experience World (Schneeerlebniswelt in German), the facility is located in the western part of the Austrian capital and has already become a big attraction for winter sports lovers.

The success of the installation is explained by the decision to gear the slope characteristics and dimensions towards beginners, complete with a convenient conveyor lift supplied by the Sunkid company. Both skiers and instructors at the local ski school (Skischule Wien) appreciate the characteristics of the artificial slope, which facilitates the learning process for today’s alpine skiing and snowboarding techniques. Despite this year’s particularly mild winter in Vienna, Neveplast has helped many newbies to become passionate skiers there.

The trend is also confirmed by 4Seasons, a company that already operates three Neveplast ski slopes in Hungary. The third was recently opened in the capital Budapest, in the northern part of Pest. It is essentially a ski camp where collective and private lessons are taught, with about 39 regular courses for school classes available throughout week. It has a full infrastructure and offers the same services as one finds at traditional ski resorts.

The success of the 4Seasons concept shows once again that you can create areas of pure entertainment and sport with Neveplast with only a limited capital outlay. Such facilities offer people who otherwise would be hard to reach the right level of excitement and enable them to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and the mountain experience in general.
