Product development and diversification have been the keys to success this year – supported by the company’s relentless marketing effort and participation in several trade fairs.
Since last fall, Neveplast’s NP70 plastic matting – the ideal solution for the loading and unloading areas of lifts and ropeways – has been a great success on the national and international markets. Every year, the company also receives orders from established customers for hard-wearing surfaces for other areas so as to minimize operating costs. This year’s projects include the installation of NP70 in the loading and unloading areas of a telemix ropeway at Alpspitz in Germany. In Austria, in the small ski resort of Stans near Innsbruck, NP70 has been laid on a surface lift track to avoid the need for artificial snow on the steep section farthest from the snowmaking system, thus avoiding costly handling operations and snow production. On beautiful Alpe di Siusi, at the foot of the Scilliar massif, Neveplast was chosen by the Rabanser ropeway operating company to enable skiers to cross minor roads on their skis without restricting car access to the hotels.
In addition to products designed for ski area operating efficiency, Neveplast’s fun products are also a favorite with ski resorts in winter. Installation of a Tubby slope for snowtubing greatly reduces the cost of maintaining a snow slope as it avoids the need to level the track every day while offering a safe form of entertainment. Neveplast’s new snow tubes have been highly successful in the first year since their launch. The option of customizing the tubes with digital prints has proved very popular and has been chosen by most customers.
Leveraging the flexibility of a special surface like the one offered by Neveplast, the Italian company recently launched Skiddy for go-kart excitement including drifting just like on snow but without any need for snow. Skiddy has meet with a highly positive response: More than ten permanent tracks have been installed in just a few months, mainly as a winter leisure facility with no snow or ice surface to be maintained, which means a huge saving in operating costs.
With further expansion on the Neveplast agenda, 2015 will be a landmark year that will see the creation within the company of a dedicated R&D department so as to be always in the lead in terms of technology and innovative products in the fields of artificial ski slopes and fun products for winter resorts.
