ISR Architecture Award

The big comeback: The "ISR Architecture Award" is again being organized as a mark of distinction for outstanding architecture in the ropeway industry. The winners in three categories will be invited on stage at Interalpin 2025 in Innsbruck to receive the awards in a festive ceremony.

Innovative architecture in new and refurbished buildings on the mountain plays an important role in the overall concept of the snowsports resort and contributes to the identity of the destination involved. In collaboration with their architects, civil engineers and construction companies, ropeway operators are noted for structures created in a masterly combination of design, functionality, innovation, technology, cost-effectiveness and sustainability. This visionary architecture on the mountain was given due recognition by the International Ropeway Review in the form of the ISR Architecture Award in 2009 and 2013.The prizes are now to be awarded again at the 25th edition of Interalpin (May 6-9, 2025), the leading trade show for the ropeway industry.

The awards are made in recognition of outstanding and sustainable projects in the German-speaking Alps (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol) in the following categories:

  • Overall project (new construction or conversion of a major part of the ropeway-related architecture)
  • Individual project (top or bottom station)
  • Outstanding sustainability (a project that particularly stands out in terms of its carbon footprint, materials used, energy generation, etc.)

The jury, which is made up of recognized experts, will award the prizes (one winner and two runners-up) in a multi-stage selection process. The winners will benefit from extensive media coverage in the ISR media. The official award ceremony will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025, as part of Interalpin 2025 in the Forum 2 hall of Congress Messe Innsbruck.
