The new development should have positive effects on consumption, maintenance costs and environmental friendliness.

Following intensive cooperation with the renowned manufacturer Klüber Lubrications, the ropeway manufacturer Leitner presents the new exclusive lubricant LP Longlife for use on roller batteries. After more than three years and 6,000 operating hours, the evaluation of the tests with the lubricantin the ski resort of San Martino di Castrozza in Trentino, Italy, have shown an increase in efficiency in terms of consumption and reduced frequency of application. By using the new lubricant, the interval between application on the roller batteries was tripled from 2,000 to 6,000 hours.

Leitner emphasises that the use of LP Longlife also helps to increase the durability of ropeway components by reducing corrosion and wear. In combination with the lower quantity required, the use of the lubricant also results in a significant cost-saving effect.

Until now, the high-quality product range from Klüber Lubrications has been standard at Leitner, for a wide variety of applications. With the development of LP Longlife, the companies are now able to offer a product "with distinctive unique features" for use in roller batteries according to a press release.

"Thanks to the development of the new lubricant from Leitner, we as operators benefit from valuable advantages in terms of costs, personnel safety, sustainability and ease of maintenance. The successful tests and the professional cooperation have confirmed our positive experiences of the past years and strengthen our confidence in an even more intensive cooperation in the future," says Giuliano Dellagiacoma, Operation Manager San Martino di Castrozza.
