Bartholet devoted a whole week at the end of June to celebrating the company’s jubilee with friends and partners. And they have plenty to celebrate: over the last fifty years, Bartholet has successfully pursued a course of continuous expansion in all divisions.
The Bartholet motto – “Innovation is our Motivation” – was very much reality under the company’s founder Anton Bartholet and is taken equally seriously and successfully implemented by the current management under his son Roland Bartholet. The versatility and innovation culture of the Swiss enterprise is truly remarkable; as specialists for ropeways, leisure park amenities, mechanical engineering and metalworking, Bartholet’s product portfolio covers a wide field. That and the company’s extensive research and development activities and sales support have won a high level of customer acceptance for BMF AG over the last fifty years. Swiss quality, an ongoing commitment to the company’s Swiss location and the independence of a family business make BMF a reliable partner on the international market to this day.
Competence in all departments
In the field of energy engineering, BMF has added a further specialization, namely photovoltaics, to its portfolio. Solar-powered trains, electric car charging stations and even a solar-powered ski lift (as reported in ISR) are just some of the innovative products developed by BMF.
For the various machining processes, BMF has forty state-of-the-art machines for drilling, milling, turning and cutting. The result is maximum flexibility and minimum production times. The machine department works with a three shift system for round the clock operation and handles sophisticated contract work for leading vacuum-engineering companies, with tolerances as tight as one thousandth of a millimeter.
BMF is also active in the field of urban transport. The group manufactures Tschu-Tschu road trains and Swiss Road Trains for leisure parks and tourist resorts as well as urban transport systems (including solar-powered models), which meet with keen demand on the marketplace.
Bartholet and Porsche
In the context of the jubilee celebrations, Bartholet again caused quite a stir with the presentation of another world first. In collaboration with Porsche Design Studio, Bartholet has created a real eye-catcher for Weisse Arena in Laax in the form of a six-seater canopy chair in the Porsche look. The design is not the only innovative aspect of the extremely comfortable chairs; they also incorporate carbon fiber components for minimum deadweight and a swivel joint between the hanger and the seat frame so that the chairs can be turned up to an angle of 45° to the line for maximum enjoyment of the mountain scenery. As if that were not enough: the seat backs have integrated solar panels to provide the energy required for the heating system for these luxury chairs. Bartholet’s powers of innovation are greatly appreciated in the industry, and with this innovation BMF has once more lived up to its reputation. “Movement through Innovation” is corporate policy at BMF, and the results show that the Swiss company is a fast mover.
